On October 30, 2019, the Data Coalition hosted its first data policy summit, GovDATAx 2019. The goal of the summit was to bring together all parts of the data community to collaborate on shared data goals, to share lessons learned, and to identify strategies for unleashing federal data.
GrantSolutions, an award-winning innovator in the use of data to support grant management decision making, was pleased to participate in the event. Renee Lobanovskyy, GrantSolutions Director of Partner Services, led a GrantSolutions presentation on “Protecting $750 Billion: Insights from the Front Lines”. The presentation highlighted GrantSolutions’ commitment to help advance Federal grants management through collaboration, transparency, and valuable data analytics services to users.
Renee shared GrantSolutions’ experience with the assembled Chief Data Officers, Chief Information Officers and other attendees. She shared Recipient Insight’s success in harnessing available data and delivering workload reduction and better evidence-based decision making to grant managers. Renee also shared GrantSolutions’ lessons learned regarding the challenges of accessing useful data, and the importance of effectively embracing new technologies, and cross-functional collaboration. She concluded her remarks with three challenges to attendees: make their data more accessible to others, collaborate and share ideas, and continue to provide the leadership needed to unleash the value locked away in government data.
The GrantSolutions team also staffed a booth in the GovDATAx exhibit hall, demonstrating the latest release of Recipient Insight. The booth generated a lot of interest. The expanded audit feature was a huge hit. Attendees offered many ideas for future Recipient Insight enhancements, ranging from new data sources to additional features.
The GovDATAx 2019 Summit was a great success in bringing data professionals together to share successes and challenges in unlocking federal data and to strategize on future efforts. GrantSolutions was pleased to both share and learn at the Summit.
